Overview
Texas Money Exchange branches buy and sell two currencies: the United States dollar (USD) and the Mexican peso (MXN). USD and MXN are the only currencies offered, and they are stocked at every branch in cash. A bilingual clerk will guide you through each step at the counter.
Currencies and Settlement
TME settles in U.S. dollars and Mexican pesos. Settlement in branch is in physical cash. No other currency is offered at any branch.
How a Branch Visit Works
At the counter, step by step

Visit any TME branch and ask for the current exchange rate.

Confirm whether the quoted rate works for you. Rates fluctuate throughout the day.

Present any required identification.

The clerk counts the currency you are exchanging, verifies the documentation, and counts out your funds in the receiving currency.
Identification Requirements
Transactions under one thousand U.S. dollars do not require identification. Transactions of one thousand U.S. dollars or more require valid government-issued identification, consistent with our obligations under the Bank Secrecy Act. See the What to Bring page for details.

Exchange rates are provided for reference only and are subject to change at any time. Rates may vary from branch to branch, and no rate is held or guaranteed. Every exchange is completed in person at the counter, with the physical currency present. A rate cannot be secured and a transaction cannot be completed by phone, email, or text message.
